Adrienne Ijioma, spoken word performing artist, poet and author of Countenance, Cuts on Me, As Is the Sky and She Like Storm, to name a few, emerges with her newest poetry collection in three years, Conversations Over Water, which dives into the deep waters of life, love, enduring hardships, navigating life choices, changes after trauma and new directions.

Ms. Ijioma, a women-centered entrepreneur and founder of Narrow Gate Greeting Card Co., believes in building up self-worth and personal growth in women, and her writings tend to lean into spiritual meditations tempered with frank honesty and inner reflections as a means of letting go of the past, accepting what is today, and finding one's strength in the autumn of life.

This chapbook collections proves the saying true that the heart of a man (or woman) is as deep waters. It takes some effort to draw out the truth of a matter, so that there is awareness, forgiveness, healing and restoration. Although Ms. Ijioma writes primarily for and from a woman's perspective, Conversations Over Water, contains motivations, reflections, inspirations and truths that are beneficial for all readers.

This selection of twenty-five (25) fresh works holds a central theme based around water, but, comically and coincidentally, contains nine (9) bonus poems included on the merits that they were penned while on self-care retreat in Clearwater, Florida post-pandemic, i.e., 'water.' She also adds, "It was so therapeutic to have time and space to physically, spiritually and emotionally reset myself with rest, meditation, prayer, good food and wisdom from my sister-tribe during that time. In the end, it allowed me to tap into the feelings of others and give voice to their emotions intermingled with my own. I believe Conversations Over Water beautifully reflects my commitment to provide emotional ESCAPE (Encouragement, Support, Compassion, Appreciation, Positivity and Empathy to first, women, and then the world. I hope that this current collection and the two subsequent offerings coming soon will reflect that."
