About
Hey there! I’m Adrienne Ijioma, and I’m so excited to help you transform your writing dreams into reality. I’ve been obsessed with the written word for over 40 years—since third grade!
Writing isn't just my hobby; it’s my life's work. I’ve navigated nearly the entire 55+ year journey by means of creative self-expression - from rough drafts to published books (with seven poetry collections published and two children's books on the way!)
Back in the 90s, I started my own desktop publishing business, providing mostly obituaries and virtual office admin services to small businesses in my former Detroit community. I dabbled well in gift basket arrangements for special occasions also.
More recently, I founded a greeting card and novelty gift company catering to 40+ women triumphing over tragedies and trauma to offer a motivating and uplifting renewal of spirit and focus for their next chapters.
My professional background spans over 30 years, teaching English in Italy (three marvelous years!), selling a freelance idea to Hallmark Cards at 16 years old, and more than three decades using my writing skills in various corporate settings such as ThyssenKrupp, Siemens, Revlon, Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University, Ford Motor Company and Blue Cross Blue Shield, to name a few.
I continue to write fiction, flash fiction, and suspense under my pen name, Jess Vaughn (Jessica K. Vaughn), and you can usually find my work on social media and the web as Jess Vaughn Writes. Feel free to connect and see what I’m up to!
